Adding music to Idea pins

After the latest Instagram update of Add Song to Profile feature, Pinterest is also working on TikTok-like video feature. Video-focused Idea Pins give users ability to add tracks to video pins. To make the search easier on Android and iOS, users can search for the music by the artists, track name, or type keywords.

With this video-focused Idea Pins, Pinterest is partnering up with record labels such as Warner Music Group, Warner Chappell Music, Merlin, and BMG.

The new feature is making Pinterest more like short-video platform such as Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube shorts helping to get more engagement. Pinterest rolled out Idea Pins last year to help content creators to tell their stories by adding photos and videos.

They are similar to stories' concept where it is vertically displayed. Despite other platforms, Pinterest called them Idea Pins which resembles the concept of Pinterest where ideas and inspiration is the main focus.

Unlike Instagram Stories, TikTok stories, or Facebook stories, Idea Pins do not disappear after 24 hours.
